Associations Now found some interesting data in a recent MemberSuite survey of association members:
- 89 percent of members strongly preferred email as a method of contact, while social media was preferred by only 8 percent. Among those aged 24-34, 87 percent preferred email and 13 percent social media.
- Associations are sending e-newsletters to people who prefer mail, and mailed newsletters to many who prefer an electronic version.
- Members are more likely to want more information from their associations, not less.
Alas, it may take a bit longer for associations to figure out how to talk to members the way they want to be talked to.
